081125 The Strand Arcade

I went to The Strand Arcade.

Usually, I just pass the building. But I was curious when I saw it first time.

I went up 2nd floor (Grand, first, second). The lift is very cute because it's very classical.

The arcade was constructed the fifth and last of the arcades built in Sydney in the Victroan sstyle. It is the only one remaining in its original form today.

Anyway, I like the opinion that keep use buildings with renovation.

ストランド・アーケードという建物をじっくり見てきました。

いつもはちょっと横切るだけなんだけど、前々からクラシカルで気になってはいたの。

今回は３階まで上がってみました。（３階建の屋根はガラス）　リフトも古くてかわいい♪

この建物はビクトリアン様式だそうです。　シドニーで５番目に建てられた建物ですが、現存するオリジナルの建物ではここだけになってしまったそうです。

それにしても、シドニーの古い建物を修復しながら使い続けるっていう考え好きです☆
